Trump Slams Biden for Not Undoing His Rail Deregulation
EAST PALESTINE, OHIO — Former President Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden for failing to reverse the Trump administration’s railroad deregulation during a visit Wednesday to the eastern Ohio town where a recent train derailment released toxic chemicals.
“Sleepy Joe and Little Boy Pete should be ashamed of themselves for not reinstating the train brake rules that were rolled back by the previous administration,” Trump told puzzled reporters. “Everyone knows I would have fixed the previous administration's mistakes on railroads. If I were in the White House, this horrible crash in East Gaza [sic], Ohio would have never happened. We would have the best railroad rules that the world has ever seen.”
Trump added, “I don’t know who loosened the brake rules in the first place, but whoever it was is an enormous disgrace and should never be elected to anything ever again.” When reminded that it was his own administration that relaxed federal brake regulations, Trump replied, “In that case, it was Prude Pence’s fault.”
During his visit, Trump distributed Trump-branded bottled water to East Palestine residents concerned that the local tap water is unsafe to drink, charging them $15 per bottle.
